Hurricanes - Are you prepared?
Hurricane Joaquin was proof that hurricane season doesn’t end in September. Joaquin may not have made landfall directly with the continental United States but its effects were far-reaching and long-lasting. A good portion of the Eastern Seaboard is experiencing flooding and other ill effects from this late developing storm. Remember, high winds are only part of the problem when it comes to hurricanes. The surge of water that it brings can flood large areas, using debris like parked cars as projectiles and contaminating fresh water supplies. That’s why it’s important to be prepared. Make sure you have enough potable water at all times. You don’t always know when help will come, so be sure you can stick it out for the long haul. That means having enough food and water, but it also means you need to find a way to stay warm when it’s cold and you need a way to signal for help. At Army Navy Outdoors, you can find everything you need to stay ahead of the curve, regardless of the situation.
